1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Susu — Your AI Diary ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

Susu is a personal diary and mood tracking application with AI-powered features. The App allows you to:

• Write and manage personal diary entries
• Track your daily mood and emotions with energy levels
• View mood analytics, patterns, and calendar views
• Chat with an AI companion for emotional support and reflection
• Use speech-to-text for hands-free journaling
• Secure your diary with PIN and biometric authentication
• Create and customize memory books with multiple themes
• Publish and share memory books via unique links
• Export diary entries and memory books as PDF files
• Receive customizable notification reminders
• Backup your diary to the cloud
• Leave and receive guestbook entries on published books

3. User Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use this App. By using the App, you represent and warrant that you are at least 13 years old. If you are under 18, you should review these Terms with a parent or guardian.

4. User Account and Security

• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your PIN code and any book passwords you set.
• You are responsible for all activities that occur under your app access.
• You should set a strong PIN and enable biometric authentication for added security.
• We are not responsible for any loss of data due to device failure, loss, or theft.

5. User Content

5.1 Ownership

You retain full ownership of all content you create within the App, including diary entries, mood logs, memory books, and any attached images or voice notes. We do not claim any ownership rights over your content.

5.2 Your Responsibilities

You are solely responsible for the content you create in the App. You agree not to use the App to:

• Store any illegal content
• Plan or facilitate any harmful activities
• Violate any applicable laws or regulations

5.3 Data Storage

Your content is stored locally on your device. We strongly recommend using the cloud backup feature or backing up your device regularly, as we cannot recover lost data if your device is damaged, lost, or reset.

6. Memory Books & Publishing

6.1 Published Content

When you publish a memory book, you grant us a limited license to host and display the book content on our servers for the purpose of making it accessible via the share link. This license ends when you unpublish the book.

6.2 Guestbook

Published books may include a guestbook feature where visitors can leave messages. You are responsible for moderating guestbook entries on your published books. We reserve the right to remove any guestbook content that violates these Terms.

6.3 PDF Export

You may export your diary entries and memory books as PDF files for personal use and sharing. Exported PDFs include Susu branding. You agree not to use the PDF export feature to distribute harmful or illegal content.

6.4 Password Protection

You may set passwords on your memory books. We are not responsible for forgotten passwords. If you lose your book password, you may need to remove the password through your account.

7. AI Features

7.1 AI Companion

The AI chat companion feature is designed to provide emotional support and facilitate reflection. However:

• The AI is not a substitute for professional mental health care, therapy, or counseling.
• If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, please contact a qualified mental health professional or emergency services immediately.
• AI responses are generated by artificial intelligence and may not always be accurate or appropriate.
• We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of AI-generated responses.

7.2 AI-Generated Content

The App may generate AI-enhanced versions of your entries, reflections, and analysis. This content:

• Does not provide medical, psychological, or professional advice
• May occasionally be inaccurate or inappropriate
• Should be used for personal reflection and journaling purposes only
• Is stored locally on your device

8. Notifications

The App may send local notifications to remind you to write in your diary. These notifications:

• Are fully customizable and can be disabled at any time
• Are handled locally on your device — no data is sent to our servers
• Require your device's notification permission to function

9. Cloud Backup

The App offers optional cloud backup functionality:

• Cloud backup is entirely opt-in — you choose when to backup and restore
• Backup data is encrypted during transmission and storage
• You can delete your cloud backup at any time
• We are not responsible for data loss due to service interruptions

10. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, graphics, animations, code, and branding, is the intellectual property of Susu and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not:

• Copy, modify, or distribute the App or its content
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
• Use our branding, logos, or design elements without permission
• Create derivative works based on the App

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:

• Warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose
• Warranties that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure
• Warranties regarding the accuracy of AI-generated content
• Warranties that published books or cloud backups will always be available

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for:

• Any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
• Loss of data, profit, or goodwill
• Any damages resulting from your use or inability to use the App
• Any actions taken based on AI-generated content
• Any unauthorized access to your data due to device compromise
• Loss of published book data or cloud backups due to service issues

13. Modifications to the App

We reserve the right to:

• Modify, update, or discontinue any features of the App at any time
• Release updates that may change the App's functionality
• Add or remove features without prior notice

14. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it from your device. Upon uninstallation, all locally stored data will be permanently deleted. Published books and cloud backups will remain on our servers until you explicitly delete them or request account deletion.

15. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the App. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

16. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which we operate, without regard to its conflict of law principles.

17. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to be valid and enforceable.
