Welcome to Susu — Your AI Diary ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application ("App").

By using Susu, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

  • Diary Entries: Text, mood selections, energy levels, tags, and notes you write in the App.
  • Mood Data: Your mood selections and emotional tracking information.
  • PIN/Security Data: Your PIN code for app lock (stored securely on device only).
  • Images: Photos you attach to diary entries (stored locally on your device).
  • Voice Notes: Audio recordings you create for voice diary entries (stored locally).
  • Memory Books: Book titles, descriptions, page content, and customization preferences you create.
  • Published Content: If you choose to publish a memory book, the book content is stored on our servers to make it accessible via a share link.
  • Guestbook Entries: If you leave messages on published books, your display name and message are stored on our servers.
  • Notification Preferences: Your chosen reminder times and notification settings.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Device Information: Device type, operating system version, and app version for compatibility purposes.
  • Usage Data: Basic app usage statistics to improve user experience (no personal content is included).

2.3 Information We Do NOT Collect

  • We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or other personal identifiers.
  • We do not collect your location data.
  • We do not sell your data to third parties.
  • We do not track your activity across other apps or websites.

3. How Your Data is Stored

Your privacy is our top priority. Here's how we handle your data:

  • Local Storage: All diary entries, mood data, and personal content are stored locally on your device. We do not upload your diary content to any server unless you explicitly choose to publish or backup.
  • Encryption: Sensitive data is encrypted using industry-standard encryption methods.
  • PIN Protection: Your app is protected by a PIN code and optional biometric authentication (fingerprint/face recognition).
  • Cloud Backup: If you opt in to cloud backup, your diary data is encrypted before being transmitted and stored securely on our servers. You can delete your cloud backup at any time.

4. AI Features

Susu includes AI-powered features such as chat companion, text enhancement, and mood analysis:

  • When you interact with the AI chat feature, your messages may be sent to our AI service provider for processing.
  • AI conversations are not stored on our servers after processing.
  • We do not use your diary entries or AI conversations for training AI models.
  • AI-generated content (enhanced entries, reflections) is stored locally on your device.
  • You can use the App without the AI features if you prefer.

5. Memory Books & Sharing

Susu allows you to create memory books and share them:

  • Private Books: Unpublished memory books are stored locally on your device and are not accessible to anyone else.
  • Published Books: When you publish a memory book, its content is stored on our servers and accessible via a unique share link. You can unpublish at any time.
  • Password-Protected Books: You can add password protection to your books for additional privacy.
  • PDF Export: When you export a book or diary entry as PDF, the file is generated locally on your device and shared through your device's sharing mechanism. We do not receive a copy.
  • Guestbook: Messages left on published books are stored on our servers and visible to anyone with the share link.

6. Notifications

Susu can send you local notifications to remind you to write:

  • Notifications are handled entirely on your device using local notification services.
  • We do not use push notification servers — all reminders are scheduled locally.
  • You can customize or disable notifications at any time in the app settings.

7. Third-Party Services

The App may use the following third-party services:

  • Google Play Services: For app distribution and updates.
  • Speech Recognition Services: When you use the speech-to-text feature, audio is processed by your device's built-in speech recognition service.
  • Text-to-Speech Services: For reading diary entries aloud using your device's built-in TTS engine.
  • AI Service Provider: For processing AI chat and text enhancement requests.

Each third-party service has its own privacy policy. We encourage you to review their policies.

8. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your data:

  • All sensitive data is encrypted on your device.
  • PIN and biometric lock prevent unauthorized access.
  • We use secure storage mechanisms provided by the operating system.
  • Data transmitted to our servers (published books, cloud backups) uses HTTPS encryption.
  • Server-stored data is protected with industry-standard security measures.

9. Children's Privacy

Susu is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

10. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access: View all your data within the App at any time.
  • Delete: Delete any or all of your diary entries, memory books, and data from within the App.
  • Unpublish: Remove any published memory book from public access at any time.
  • Export: Export your entries and books as PDF files for personal use.
  • Uninstall: Uninstalling the App will remove all locally stored data from your device.
  • Opt-out: You can choose not to use AI features, cloud backup, or publishing and still use the core diary functionality.

11. Data Retention

Since your data is primarily stored locally on your device:

  • Your local data remains on your device as long as the App is installed.
  • Uninstalling the App permanently deletes all local data.
  • Published books remain on our servers until you unpublish them or delete your account.
  • Cloud backups are retained until you explicitly delete them.
  • Guestbook entries on published books are retained as long as the book is published.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by posting a notice within the App. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
